Hi! My name is Sarah-Catherine Baswell, and I serve as the junior high school counselor, serving grade 6 through 8.  Prior to my current role, I taught English in 7th grade. I graduated from Auburn University in 2014 with my undergraduate degree in Secondary English Education. I've loved to read from an early age, so this sparked my love for English!

I lived in Birmingham, AL for the majority of my life. I have an older sister who still lives there. My parents currently live in North Alabama. I have played soccer throughout my entire life and miss it every day!

I'm looking forward to making this the best year yet!

If you have questions, comments, and/or concerns, please contact me via email. I will do my best to respond as quickly as possible!

Greetings!  My name is Adam Keel, and I am the high school counselor at Beulah High School, serving grades 9th through 12th.  I began my Beulah career all the way back in 1988 as a Kindergarten student, worked all 13 years at Beulah, graduating from Beulah High School in 2001. I am beyond thrilled to be returning "home" to where my education began! Prior to joining the staff at BHS, I taught English and yearbook at McAdory High School (Jefferson Co., AL), served as one of the counselors at Hueytown High School (Jefferson Co., AL), served as a school counselor at both Beulah High School and Beulah Elementary School, and most recently have worked at Drake Middle School in Auburn, Alabama, as one of the school counselors serving 6th grade students.

Prior to beginning at McAdory, I got married to my wife Maegan in May 2007, and we now have two beautiful daughters and one handsome son.  Chloe Belle was born January 2010, and Lily was born May 2011. James joined our family on April Fool's Day 2014!

If you have any need to contact me, feel free to do so.  I am here for you!

I am excited to see what this year brings our way!  I wish you only the very best this school year!

  • Erin's Law

On June 4, 2015, Governor Bentley signed into effect legislative law HB 197, known as Erin’s Law.  This law requires all public school systems to provide age appropriate child sexual abuse prevention education in grades ranging from Kindergarten to 12th grade.

In the Lee County School System, the school counselor and other educational professionals will be presenting lessons to each student in 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th grades to meet the requirements of Erin’s Law.  Lee County Schools has decided to utilize the curriculum, Safer, Smarter Kids and Safer, Smarter Teens.  This curriculum was chosen to teach children to recognize child sexual abuse, equip them with skills to reduce their vulnerability, and encourage them to report the abuse.  This will, in turn, educate and empower students with knowledge and skills to stay safe.
